[CLOSED] Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day - May Edition

Welcome! I am happy that you are here to join me on Sew, Mama, Sew's Giveaway Day! If you are new here, my name is Taryn and I like to sew quilts. If you like (not required!), you can follow my sewing progress via the following links: RSS  |  Bloglovin'  |  Flickr  |  Instagram  |  Pinterest  |  Facebook  |  Twitter

Sew, Mama, Sew's Giveaway Day is one my favorite times of year! I love to meet new friends and the chance to win free stuff isn't so bad either :D! I'm so happy it happens twice a year!

Here is my offering: One person will win a copy of Modern Blocks (compiled by Suzanne Woods) & Two Amy Butler's Gypsy Caravan Charm Packs (6" Squares, 30 pieces each).

Leave one comment telling me about your sewing or crafting plans for this month. Are you making any seasonal sewing projects? If you don't have any projects going on, what do you like to sew or want to learn how to sew?

My biggest priorities are the BP MS 150 quilt and my super secret mystery quilt. I also need to think of some small gifts to make my mom and two of my siblings They are all graduating college in a couple of weeks!

The winner is #59:

Mary Ann said... # 59
I need to finish a colonial style dress for my daughter before our trip to Williamsburg. Then get my bom blocks done
I will be sending the package out ASAP! Thanks again to all who entered!

Fine print: This giveaway will close May 10, 2013 at 5pm PST. The winner will be chosen using random.org. I am willing to ship internationally. I will be contacting the winner by email. If you're a "no reply" or anonymous commenter, please be sure to include your email address in your comment so that I am able to contact you if you win. Entries without an email address will be disqualified. The winner must respond within three days of the end of the contest. If the winner does not respond within that period, another winner will be chosen.

Thank you so much for entering! It gets a bit crazy on Giveaway Day and I can't always respond to every comment like I do on regular posts, but I really appreciate your visit! Good luck and thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you again!

You can see the all the giveaways at Sew, Mama, Sew's Blog (starting May 6 @ 6AM PST).

I have so many projects on the go, I wonder if I will finish any of them. This month, I am hoping to finish:
-knit baby legwarmers
-a cowichan-style chunky knit sweater
-a couple sets of placemats with Anna Maria Horner's feather block pattern
-some blocks for my Modern Quilters Guild meeting
-stretching some marimekko fabric around a frame for art in my living room

I think that's enough. I still have a few quilts that I need to finish the quilting and binding. And I just found out about a couple of friends and family who are having babies, so add some more baby quilts to the list. Sigh. It's a good thing I love doing this stuff :)

I am working on a back for my Easy Street quilt. Then I will put it on my quilt machine to get it quilted. That is my biggest project for this month.

I have quite a few WIPs, including a wall hanging, a quilt from last year that I need to put the final border on and quilt, as well as a couple of projects for this coming Fall. I would like to get some Christmas fabric and work on a couple of Christmas items as well.

I have three quilts to baste and quilt right now. I guess that's where I get stuck! I love to make the tops, but basting is not my favorite thing. :)

I've got a baby quilt I need to start & finish soon for my soon-to-be-born cousin. But I'm holding out for a new fabric line called "Little Surfer Boy" to come out later this month. Not quite sure of the design or pattern I will be doing, but probably something simple and quick as he is due June 6th. Eep!

I've been having fun making small projects out of scraps - coin purses, card wallets, etc!
